Esteban is a professional trumpet player and music educator based in the Central Texas area. He currently plays first trumpet for Compadres Mariachi de Austin, TX, where he has been for 7 months. He also plays as a freelance musician for various mariachi groups and churches in Austin, San Antonio and surrounding areas. Esteban will complete his undergraduate degree in Music Education from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX May 2020. While at Texas State, Esteban served as principle trumpet for the TXST Wind Symphony from January 2017 - May 2019, principle trumpet of the TXST Symphony Orchestra from August 2017 - May 2019, and played trumpet for Mariachi Nueva Generacion from August 2015 - July 2019. While a performer at Texas State, Esteban was able to perform in various states across the country and in three countries in Central Europe.Esteban completed his Block teaching internship at Sycamore Springs MS in Dripping Springs ISD, his Elementary student teaching placement at Arlon Seay Elementary School, and will complete his high school placement at Smithson Valley HS both in Comal ISD. He teaches students level K-12 and adults in the area in trumpet pedagogy and mariachi style.
