Fabian Reyes Jr. is currently a Music Education student at Texas State University.Originally from Fredericksburg, Texas, Fabian began playing trombone at the age of eleven when he joined band in middle school. While at Fredericksburg High School, he had the opportunity to be a part of the band program under the direction of John Rauschuber, Jason Younts, James Buxton, Dani Rauschuber, and Bradley Bryant. The band was a top program at the AAAA level having been Silver medalists at the State Marching Band Contest in 2012 and named a TMEA Honor Band in 2013. While there, he was a member of ATSSB Region and Area Bands, was a runner up in the All-State Band process, served on student leadership as Brass Captain and Section Leader, and was a recipient of various music awards such as the Instrumentalist Magazine Merit Award and the Patrick S. Gilmore Band Award for outstanding leadership and musicianship.

After graduating from high school, Fabian went on to attend school at Texas State University to study Music Education. He studies trombone performance under the tutelage of Dr.Martin McCain, studies instrumental music education methods with instruction from Dr. John Denis, Professor Jordan Stern, and Dr. Robert Cannon, and studied conducting under the mentorship of Dr. Kyle Glaser and Professor Matthew Holzner. As performer, Fabian has been accepted into and attended prestigious music festivals such as the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute,the Southeast Trombone Symposium, and the World Youth Wind Orchestra Project. He has also performed in masterclasses with trombone and brass artists such as James Nova, Brad Edwards,Brian Hecht, Denson Paul Pollard, Peter Steiner, Scott Hartmann, Steve Peterson, Paul Naslund,John Lofton, Sam Woodhead, Millennium Brass, and Summit Brass. Fabian is a current/past member of ensembles at Texas State of the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Winds, Concert Band,Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Lab Band, and Trombone Choir. His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, International Trombone Association, National Band Association,and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America.
